One of the benefits of membership with Atlanta Junior Golf is a complimentary membership with the Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA). The GSGA, founded in 1916, is a non-profit organization dedicated solely to serving the game of golf and its membership of more than 360 member clubs and their 85,000 members. The mission of the GSGA is to promote and preserve the traditions and integrity of golf in Georgia and to enhance its enjoyment.

In addition to its many other functions (course rating, amateur tournaments, etc.), the GSGA provides USGA handicap indexes for golfers in the state of Georgia. As a member of Atlanta Junior Golf, you are also a member of our associate club that is affiliated with the GSGA and have access to your own complimentary USGA Handicap. The handicap is active only while you are a member of Atlanta Junior Golf and expires on December 31 of each year along with your Atlanta Junior Golf membership. In order to reactivate your GHIN number you must renew your Atlanta Junior Golf membership in each new year. If you no longer participate in Atlanta Junior Golf programs (e.g. because you are too old), you may continue to renew your GHIN number through another GSGA Member Club for a nominal fee. If you are a current member of Atlanta Junior Golf and have not received your GHIN number, contact us to establish one today.
